dc.description.abstractHifadhi bora ya mazao inahakikisha familia inakuwa na chakula cha kutosheleza mwaka mzima. Pia mazao yanaweza kuuzwa wakati wowote ili kuongeza kipato. Mradi wa hifadhi bora ya mazao na udhibiti wa viumbe waharibifu umebuniwa na watafiti wa Chuo Kikuu cha Sokoine Cha Kilimo (SUA),na unafadhiliwa na Programu ya FOCAL,SUA. Mradi huu unawalenga wakulima katika wilaya tatu Tanzania ambazo ni Handeni, Mvomero na Iringa Vijijini. Hifadhi bora na udhibiti wa wadudu, panya na viumbe wengine wanaoharibu mazao ghalani ni muhimu ili kuhakikisha mazao kama mahindi, kunde, maharage, mpunga, n.k. yanayozalishwa na wakulima hayaharibiwi wakati yanapohifadhiwa. Utafiti shirikishi unafanyika juu ya mbinu za asili na za kisasa ili kuboresha hifadhi ya mazao na kudhibiti viumbe waharibifu wa mazao ghalani.en_US
